An autonomous agent that can run bash is one confidently-worded hallucination away from an interesting incident. I don’t want a human in the loop for every git status, but I also don’t want to be the only gate between myself and rm -rf. So mule got a policy engine — commit f4185c5, October 8, migration 0015, internally known as Herd H3.5 — and it’s turned out to be the most opinionated piece of infrastructure in the repo.
